Today, Tomorrow and Forever

Today, tomorrow and forever
We can never repay the debt
One day each year is not enough
While in stone, new names are set

Today alone, two more to add
We should hang our heads in shame
They represented us, you and I
Someone’s life will never be the same

They feel out of sight and out of mind
Their gear is just second rate
Yet they are expected to do the job
And when they get back there is hate

It is not good enough by a mile
As a country we need them to know
There are still many of us back here
Who do care about where they go

So today, tomorrow and forever
It will just take a minute of your day
Pray for these guys and their loved ones
Who fear while they are so far away
