THROUGH THICK AND THIN

by | Oct 8, 2007 | Poetry | 0 comments

Through thick and thin, with shear pride,
In war and peace we stand side by side.
Still this day we stand so fine,
Like those days gone bye of the thin red line.

Like those before us we stood our ground
When chaos prevailed, all around,
Together as one, we protected each other,
Our kindred spirit, like that of a brother.

Through day and through night, we weathered the storm,
Brothers in arm’s we stood true to form.
Those days have long gone now,
But we hold them so dear,
When we stood side by side through the pain and the fear.

And as we grow older, and the years do pass bye,
We reflect on our wars with a tear in our eye,
For our friends long since gone and the sacrifices made,
Now all just memories, that in time will just fade.
