Thoughts on a walk – 1st weekend in December (Llanymynech)

Sleep on,Ice Queen of winter,
your wardrobe is not yet complete.
Wouldn’t do for us to see you
naked,like the stripped down trees.
Sleep on, sleep on

Slip into a dream of falling degrees,
an ermine coat over white lace dress
necklace draped; red berried pearls,
diamonds glint in platinum hair.
Sleep on, sleep on

I leave you still sleeping, still dreaming,
waiting, waiting to glide; ermine coat
shedding crystals of snow; every
sweeping step a Spiro graph pattern
of frosted maidens of your court,
veiled in purest silver.
