These scars

These scars which hide beneath the skin
Tell tales of a woman in sheer distress
There depth explains the time, when life
Appeared impossible to live
Through the invisible eye.

They run deeper than a river
And flow through every stage of life,
Weddings, christenings, death

But these scars, my scars hide beneath my skin
And do not reappear
Because I do not allow them
They will not distort me
Nor will they defeat me

I am me, and my scars
Which hide beneath my skin
Are a trace of my life
It is apart of me

I cant hide these scars
But I shall do my upmost
They apart of me
I shall never want to relive.
