Soldier, Soldier

Soldier, soldier posted far
How I wonder how you are
Working hard both day and night
Helping others make wrong things right
Soldier, soldier posted far
I’m proud of you my shining star

When the blazing sun is hot
Think of me, forget me not
If you’re lonely don’t feel blue
I’ll be waiting here for you
Soldier, soldier posted far
I’m proud of you my shining star

When the enemy come to ground
Give them hell and bring them down
I pray the Lord will keep you safe
Protecting you from all the strafe
Soldier, soldier posted far
I’m proud of you my shining star

When at night you find your bed
I’ll pray for peace as you rest your head
In your dreams you think of home
For a while you’re not alone
Soldier, soldier posted far
I’m proud of you my shining star

One day soon your tour will end
Until then the letter’s I send
In my heart and thoughts you stay
I pray for your safety every day
Soldier, soldier posted far
I’m proud of you my shining star
