Response to Depression

Try if you will to close your eyes
And think of memories past
The times when you had a smile on your face
As on happiness your eyes you cast
But then your life has gone through change
Over these many years
With strain and stress and tragedy
Accompanied by tears
But this is the way that you relieve
The pent up feelings inside
Reality you can’t run away from
For there is no place to hide
But if you look to the future
At the end of the tunnel there is light
And the end of your depressive state
As everything turns out right
With the help of the friends you know
Who will help you along the way
If not in fact in deeds themselves
They know the right things to say
To guide you back to the bright side of life
With understanding and tolerance shown
These are the things that prove to you
You will never be on your own
And then you will go from strength to strength
And search and find fields anew
In fact the world is your Oyster
And it’s waiting just for you
