RELEASE

It is we who remain
That grieve for our loss
In the dark days of emptiness
Releasing the dam of self denial
Uncorking the bottle of pent up rage
Allowing the slow hissing gases
To poison the air we breathe
Amerced by our own beliefs
While the other
Free from earthly restraints
And material pain
Begs us to let them go

For it is your release that is required
Sitting in your self made jail
Chained by the memories of lives once lived
That can never be regained
From the clutches of death
Or the drip of time
Through the channels of the heart
Clogged by refuse of what ifs
We are not God
And cannot fathom His logic
Just accept that there is a reason
Release and look forward
So the shadows of lost love
Cannot follow you into the light
