PRIVILEGE

by | Oct 7, 2007 | Poetry | 0 comments

A sympathetic smile, empathy with an underclass
An egocentric society that proclaims solidarity
Rubbish dump kids become the defenders of privilege
Harvested from the underprivileged spawning grounds
Destined for unknown fields of conflict
Saviours of our democratic rights
As night follows day, thoughts are lost in the stare of dying eyes
