“One Cannot Educate the Human Heart”

by | May 11, 2013 | Poetry | 0 comments

How canst one educate an aching heart
Which covets thee above all else in life
Still beats for thee in truth where e’er thou art
Tis always and forever pierced by knife
Thou wouldst I know withdraw if e’er brought pain
Upon a cloud replete with Angels wings
Where triumph over time casts sweet refrain
With vows as once expressed, commitment brings
Through understanding thou wouldst n’er condone
Sad lesson learned as one whose faith transcends
In mortal state I now doth walk alone
No more the joy of sharing as close friends
No debt is owed by either one to each
Save that which known eternity doth breach
