Midnight Veil

Tho I am wont to walk thru dreams at night
Reality is just one blink away
Whilst free to roam; engaged with each delight
Awareness comes when light fills out the day
Tis poets’ realm I seek past midnight hour
Yon place which comes alive by dipping quill
Where fairy tales of love and loss devour
Imagination then provides refill
Such time as spent before each hopeful dawn
In truth may lead me on midst sweet affair
Perchance to stroll on beach, as oft’ I’m drawn
Or off beyond the stars, to who knows where
Held yearning in one’s heart cannot disguise
As composition forms behind veil’d eyes
