Midnight Train (rolls on)

“All disembark for interchange, next stop!”
Announcement made without a ‘by your leave’
Hath caught me unawares when ‘fit to drop’
As heavy rests my head upon my sleeve
Awaken’d now from slumber, I look out
Thru windows black as night and kiss’d by rain
Unsure if I alone had heard the shout
Twas then I noticed her alight from Train
I’d hoped for brief encounter at outset
When heart didst skip a beat as she pass’d by
At “All aboard,” imagined here well met
Tho sadly dreams were dash’d in non-comply
A second chance awaits as if by fate
Once ‘further down the line’ I may relate:)
