I Know You Will Find a Way

You voice speaks darkness
As I sit before you
In a place we’ve shared for so long
You speak of death, of places ended
Blood sweat and tears were your friends
I see the eyes so full of love once
Darken into hardened coals
Life has etched its stain glass windows
Leaving rivers in their surrounds
I move closer talking softly
Hoping you can still hear my voice
A sudden movement may make you bolt
Or face me down with violence
But I will sit here quietly waiting
For the moment you awake
Come back to me now
I am waiting
I know that you will find a way
