HESITATION

He knew he should go

To where she was waiting

But still he lay there

As if hesitating

The bed was so warm

And his children stood by

So full of his love

Trying hard not to cry

Then drifting in sleep

He was feeling so torn

His life had been full

But his body was worn

As if in a dream

She reached out for his hand

To join her once more

In the new life she planned
