Forever

I left as a flee
After you told me of the army
I went and cried
Feeling like a part of me died
But I couldn’t stay away
And just told me to pray

I was all dressed in white
And I couldn’t even fright
As you told me I was the loveliest of sights
When you took my hand and said I do
My heart flew

But then you had to leave
Telling me to just believe
I had to watch you walk away
I always thought that’d be the darkest of days

But then I fell to the floor and cried
Knowing a part of me had died
Now I stand holding a flag
Never can I take of this tag
It’s all I have left now
To hold on to our vow
