Eclipse Of My Sun

Where has the sun gone from yesterday?
Since I told you I had to go away,
To pack my helmet and combat vest,
And fly to war and leave the nest.

I know I told you that I would never leave,
And that I’ll wear my heart on my sleeve,
But I cannot say no when orders come down,
Telling me to step up and protect the crown.

But you are my reason in what I’m fighting for,
And I said I’ll protect you, from all, I swore.
There I will be with these young men,
Standing for you, alongside them again and again.

So no matter what happens to me,
With you I will forever be,
And when I return to your arms again,
My sun will be shining brightly then.
