Deception Of The Trusting

by | Mar 24, 2012 | Poetry | 0 comments

Deception rears his ugly head
As up the garden path we’re lead
By stealing poem, story, song
Deception leads us all along

An honest man is hard to find
Honest, as in heart and mind
Deception asks us to believe
The web of lies that he does weave

And slowly in us soon the doubt
Will raise us up to seek him out
This vilifier of our trust
Will see his standing turn to dust

A reputation known to all
Can soon be lost and made to fall
The edifice that he stands on
Can crumble quickly and be gone
