Comrades

How blessed are we
With eyes that can see
The beauty that is England

Amidst it’s lush, green rolling hills
Where battles lost and won
Such heavy pride within my heart
To have lived here as her son

We walk together now in Heaven’s land
As we walked here on the Earth
Shoulder to shoulder as comrades do
Freedom was our only worth

No more the sound of gunfire
From the brow of yonder hill
We are safe in God’s own territory
For we have paid the bill
