Blithe Spirit

by | Aug 3, 2009 | Poetry | 0 comments

Light musk rose perfume
with a hint of myrrh
Soft, pale yellow flowers
golden cups replete with
morning sunlight
Uncommon in form
Through the summer
your splendour grows
Blithe of spirit forever
pleasing to the eye
Whose beauty few
would dare deny
You faded -as every rose
must do

Yet, still, the memory
lives of you…
~
‘And while your fragrance lingers on
Our thoughts drift to the summer gone
When we walked lighter in our step
And winter seemed so distant yet…’
