Betrayed

Red sun kissed western sky,
and night again starts to fall,
leaving a taint of falsehood.
Honour and vows are broken
by the cruelty and lies.

He left his boyhood behind,
going through life as a man,
so betrayed and bitter,
that naught was left but deep hate.
Time past soon silvers over!

Blood stained white pebbles shine.
Waxen face now points skywards,
as crocuses start to bloom,
then quickly wither and die.
Life skips by so very fast!

Dark clouds are now gathered,
as envy consumes his soul,
and the lonely old warrior,
drifts into slow depths of death,
still recalling days long gone.
