Alternative Therapy

I’m told that I must exercise
By walking swiftly till I sweat.
That will stop me gaining weight
And ensure that I keep fit.
Dieting will not keep me slim.
My medication makes me fat
And if I don’t get exercise
My stomach will stop being flat.
But it is cold and it is wet
And I’ve no time to walk all day.
I don’t see why I cannot try
To lose the weight another way.
I could still have food and drink
And insulin, as a diabetic
And then get rid of excess weight
Through the use of a diuretic.
I shall tell my Doctor this
And she will say I’m talking piss.
