‘A Love Song’

by | May 5, 2010 | Poetry | 0 comments

You ask me to write you a love song
And the melody would turn out right
You forget how you did me such wrong
And I cried on my pillow that night.

You ask me to write you a love song
But the words were meant for another
My heart has been broken for so long
And your love had gone to my brother.

The words of love keep hurting my brain
And the reason then drives me insane
You broke my heart in two when you said
Just how your love for me was now dead.

I cried on my soft pillow last night
But the hurt and sorrow died on sight
And I forgot you had done me wrong
When you ask me to write your love song.
