A DIET OF HERBS

They say we are what we eat

And in many cases this is so

For those who enjoy their “fry-ups”

Advertise the fact wherever they go

Obesity is said to be a problem

Affecting the health and wealth of our nation

So I am doing everything I can

To ensure that my body does not suffer inflation

I asked my sister ROSEMARY for some advice

And she suggested I try a diet of herbs

At least she said that the SAGE could be helpful

And help me to differentiate between the noun and the verbs

My cousin BASIL was asked his opinion

He agreed with what my sister had to say

And if we ate a lot of coriander with our salads

It would help to keep obesity at BAY

At first the diet did not appear to be working

So I decided to give it more THYME

And even if this was not effective

It would give me more THYME to finish this rhyme
