Yesterday’s gone

I woke up this morning
Thought what shall I do
I’ll forget all my past life
And start something new
I was really fed up
With the life that I led
So today I’ll try fields anew
When I get out of bed
For a start I shall sort out
What’s wrong with my life
And get rid of the troubles
Along with sorrow and strife
In the past for the grief
There were always floods of tears
But now I shall look forward
To my happier years
Away with the handkerchief
For no tears will I shed
But daily I shall replace them
With laughter instead
But some place I must find first
For the memories I cherish
Away from the sadness
Which I will gladly see perish
And then on with my new life
Where my dreams will excel
But that is in the future
Which no one can tell
So onwards ever onwards
I shan’t know ‘til I try
And say “Hello “ to tomorrow
And kiss yesterday goodbye
