Why I wore a poppy

We wear the poppy every year
For British people who fought in war
Across the lands were blood and gore
All the guns firing loud
But still the people who fought were proud
Even though they might not come back
They did it for their country
So we wear the poppy to remember the people who gave lives
And families whose relations died
