The news is alarming
Another soldier lost
Fighting in another land
No matter what the cost.

I thought Obama
Was the man to stop the war,
But he’s sending out more troops
Don’t know what they’re fighting for?

We were just an island
Only so much we could do,
Did we have to get involved?
Squander men and money too.

Somewhere there must be an answer
Though I haven’t got a clue,
Killing, maiming one and other
Is a stupid thing to do.
