What’s that you say?”

“You talkin’ to me?” – “You talkin’ to me?”
Repeated now at hearing latest news
How could such words in truth, more dreadful be
For one whose plans in life ‘at best diffuse’
Twud seem but plaintive plea falls on deaf ears
“So much to see, so much to say and do”
Pray free one’s mind of burden and held fears
As here I lie awaiting of review
Should confirmation leave me in no doubt
Then reappraisal warrants due respect
Be measured in response; “do not cry out”
Lest loved ones sense despair (for sure suspect)
Tho’ pain endured; of blame I ‘Thee’ absolve
Tis nought but trial, that’s sent to test resolve
