WE SHALL BE STRONG

Slowly the train chugged away
Slowly moving day by day

I dare not cry
I know someone out there will die

I had my Teddy in my arm
We’re going to stay on a farm

“ Good-bye Mum “ I say quietly
Are we really going to be ’ Evacuees ‘ ?

After six years we return home
For a second I think I’ll be left alone

Suddenly I hear my name
“ Mummy, Daddy, we’re home again
