‘War torn Sonnet’

by | Apr 13, 2010 | Poetry | 0 comments

I close my eyes but you’re no there
For you have gone I know not where
And as I call your name out loud
Your face floats by on silken cloud.

I seek and seek, but you’re not there
As into crowds I constant stare
Once in a while I think you’re found
But then my hopes crash to the ground.

Where have you gone sweet love of mine
I write your name in blood red wine
And as I cry soft silken tears
So quickly pass these war torn years..

My beating heart’s in constant pain
Loneliness burns like scalding rain.
