I am watching the news on the telly
Here is a man, wearing a hoodie
Face hidden, dark clothes, been on the run
Said to be the leader of a gang
Boasts of his power – and his gun
They say he has killed an innocent bystander
More news and here’s another man
Camouflaged clothes, dark streaks on his face
Helmet in hand, action comes soon!
He is the leader of a gang
He calls it, proudly, his platoon
He carries a gun, and can certainly use it
But his is not the mindless hit
The man is a soldier, trained and fit
He fights our battles, is life on the line
His bravery rewarded, a medal the sign
Two men, the criminal to jail, the soldier to war
Two sides of a penny, two lives on the telly.
