Unsung Hero

You go away and fight

As you believed it was right

You’ve trained for this for so long

It’s where you thought you belonged

You looked so proud in your uniform

Ready to do your service and conform

You joined the armed forces for this day

To serve you country come what may

You knew the risks that it brought

In all those conflicts you had fought

All the dangers you had to face

In a hostile and barren place

You lost your life that fateful day

Caught in the crossfire that came your way

Another brave soldier we have lost

Taken so young at what cost?

Your probably won’t be the only one

Until this conflict is finally done

You will be remembered and so will many more

Unsung heroes of this war
