True love lost

There’s your indent on the other side of our bed
And an empty hole where my loving heart has bled
Folk see you photographs still hanging on our wall
So many times I smell your perfume in the hall.

[Now my first real love has left and gone away]

Oh memories that hurt please leave me now I pray
As I turn to face yet another lonely day
I put the coffee on and the cups side by side
Then turn away, the tear drops so to hide.

[For my first real love has left and gone away]

There is a large hole where my loving heart did bleed
For loss of the true love that started as a seed
Cupid’s bow and arrows, now broken on the floor
When you departed through our cabin’s old front door.

[Yes my first real love has left and gone away]

Did you leave me and and my loving heart to die
Because you couldn’t stand to see a grown man cry
As you left for good with a new hope in your life
I knew for sure I’d lost my lover and my wife.

[Because you my love have left and gone away]

[Yes! My first real love has left and gone away]

Leaving now a torn, tortured and broken mind
That will now hate, all the world and all its kind.
