THEY DIED FOR US TO LIVE

Now in silent rows they lay,
no more to see the break of day,
in foreign fields so far away.
No more for them, the battle done,
guns now silent, and all as one.
Husbands, Fathers, Sons,
a generation lost for ever,
but forgotten never.
Sleep tight you warriors brave,
all alone in your silent graves.
You gave your lives for us to live,
and for your courage our honour we give.
