The Shaking of my Coffin

by | Jan 21, 2009 | Poetry | 0 comments

There are things I think,
There are things I say,
Some things I wish,
And sometimes I pray.

In these times the bombs will fall,
Or when the rounds come in,
And I pray for brothers all,
That they don’t pay for any sin.

My coffin shakes with terror,
Is it my turn yet?
This attack is lasting forever,
If it happens there’s no reason to regret.

Where is Queen and country now,
When I was laying in the sand?
Where was Queen and country,
When I offered my hand?
