THE SHADOWS OF TRUTH

by | Aug 25, 2015 | Poetry | 0 comments

I’ve been on that road to no-where
Stood by that dark shrouded lake
Where hopes and dreams are abandoned
When life gets too hard to take

I’ve stood on that mythical corner
Deciding to go or return
Felt desolation inside me
And looked for bridges to burn

How easy to choose the wrong way
Dismiss the life you have known
Embrace the blackness inside you
As you face the world on your own

But some things have come to my rescue
Like laughter of children at play
The love of people around me
To make the hurt go away
