The Modern British Army.

From their camp base,
The young men face
Another dawn patrol.
It’s scorching hot,
A soldier’s lot,
To strive and reach his goal.

In Afghanistan
Do all they can,
Win local hearts and minds.
They need to fight
With all their might,
But, long term – friendships bind.

Army’s modern men
Now know just when
To lend a helping hand.
Win Afghans’ trust
Becomes a must,
For peace in troubled land.

We so admire
Your fighting fire
In this campaign’s long haul.
Remember that
We raise our hat
And send love to you all.
