The Last Hurrah

By 6th February 2011December 9th, 2019No Comments

One final last hurrah lads
Before the curtain’s drawn
One more stab at life lads
Before the fateful dawn

One more chance to show them
That I am still a man
And cross the bridge of doubt
Still happy that I can

Fate can not be halted
It marches on and on
How fruitless to deny it
For soon I will be gone

Those memories I have gathered
That helped to keep me sane
Will drift up to the heavens
And not be seen again

No anguished cry for me lads
No-one will want to mourn
No stone above my grave, just
A placard stained and worn
