The Invisible Army Wives

Soon my soldier leaves, and I’m left here all alone,
Hes going to a country, that to him is yet unknown.
His companion will be his dog, together walking the lines,
treading very slowly, to save others from the mines.
He swore he would be careful, and come home to me,
but I can not believe it,until his face I see.
So I will live with the pride, the loneliness and fear,
when all I really need is just to have him here.
Always thank our soldiers, for endangering their lives,
but spare a thought for us , the invisible army wives.
