The Final Triumph

When all is considered…when all is said and done…
When the immeasurable depths of the oceans have been measured…
When the vast numbers of countless stars have been counted…
When the far distant narrowing of the long road meets the unmeetable horizon…
When the strain of the final note of the last chord has faded…
Then it is over…and all is done.

All things are through…all is settled.
The rolling wave has broken on
The near reaches of the shallowing shore…
The rushing river has met the oceanic bride
In a consummate embrace…
The cloud has shed its moistened gift
And sprinkled the below with its refreshing essence…
The morn has departed and left its diamond dew…
The sun has settled in its ponent western bed…
The fallen leaves ungreen bedeck the nurturing earth…
The fading embers have relinquished their radiant warmth.

I have prevailed…I have won.
Tribulation has been overcome and fettered fast…
Cocooned within the cage of conquest.
The weak subdued and the vexatious vanquished,
Fears and doubt are dispelled in perpetuity.
I have attained mastery over misfortune’s misbehaviour,
And I defeated despair’s dull disdain.
Victorious accomplishment is my companion.
The trophy is claimed…now offer me a tribute.
Let the crowning laurel bedeck my head…for with the ultimate honour
And matchless glory…the final crowing triumph has been joyfully attained.
