The day Trip

My dad took us to Chatsworth
It took us hours and hours.
I was slightly disappointed
As I’d wished for Alton Towers!

The journey just seemed endless
Like from Glasgow down to Dover.
Oh I wished it was my bedtime
And the whole thing would be over!

We sat and had a picnic
The grass was wet and soggy.
I ate too many sandwiches
And I felt all sick and stodgy!

We walked all round the gardens
The house, the shop and all.
We couldn’t climb the hunting tower
As the building was too tall!

My legs felt tired and aching.
My feet like lumps of lead.
How I’m glad the day is over
And I’m tucked up in my bed!
