The Brave Ones

Your husbands, sons and brothers are ranked with high esteem
They served their queen and country, their love, their life, their dream
These brave young men who gave their lives to fight a foreign war
We always will remember them and love them evermore

Our thoughts are always with you, wherever you may roam
I hope you can find solace, in this a tribute poem
I served myself in years gone by but never had to fight
Your loved ones shine like stars above with everlasting light

This poem is for the widows who married men so brave
Their gallantry and valour exalts the lives they gave
These men will be remembered, their wives and children too
This poem is for your loving men, but mostly it’s for you
