The Anchor

By 3rd December 2010December 9th, 2019No Comments

A ancient symbol of times gone by, seen as a disguised cross
A symbol in Victorian times to give Hope in times of loss
An occupational symbol of seafaring areas like the docks
A marker guide to secret meeting place often hidden among the rocks

The attribute of Saint Nicholas the patron Saint of Sailors
Symbolising Hope and steadfastness, in Tall ships and The Whalers
An anchor with a broken chain stands for the end of life.
But given as a Christmas gift, it’s a THANK YOU TO MY WIFE.
