Sweet Oath’s

Shouldst e’er our hearts embrace such words as sworn
By maidens fair who lead a merry dance
May leave our pride as punctured by a thorn
If pledging of our love for them perchance
Wouldst they resort to tried and trusted ways
Entrapment used, ensnaring hapless sort
Or else employ sweet subterfuge to daze
Cocooning in their web as prey now caught
In hopeful cause for all such men embalmed
We sally forth in rescue, deemed too late
Subjection to their wiles, leaves us disarmed
Resulting in entangled, dangled fate
All Knights in shining armour lose their mind
No finer Grail couldst seek yet hope to find
