SUMMER SOLSTICE

By 23rd June 2012December 9th, 2019No Comments

The summer solstice – came and went
Engulfed in cloud and rain
No-one ventured very far
Soaking wet inside their car
They prayed for sun again

The summer solstice – what a joke
It really makes you cry
Festivals are not so good
Battling winds and seas of mud
With no-one warm and dry

The summer solstice – longest day
So dark and cold and wet
Heat and lights on through the day
Made me wish I’d gone away
As far as I could get
