SHADOWS

by | Mar 7, 2007 | Poetry | 0 comments

The shadows are longer as my memories grow stronger,
I gaze at yesterday through the window of the past,
I see the splendour of youth and I remember,
My children when small my parents still young,
Grandparents alive, the family tree is as it should be.
We’re all dancing around in a room full of light.
Mum and Dad by the tree, with angels and me.
When the swallows return with a new song to sing,
It all begins again with a new wedding ring!
