Second Sight

Reflected in tired eyes you’ll surely see
A timeless gaze encompassing denial
Resulting from said prayer and hopeful plea
Such weariness of heart thru endless trial
Tis true they are the windows of our soul
Revealing of emotion and held thought
Yet clear becomes opaque, (in taking toll)
Obscuring that which troubled life hath wrought
As cataracts now form to cloud my view
Upstream, the tears may flow midst moments past
Tho none will spill, or torrent may ensue
For ‘twinkling’ years of youth now fading fast
Existence’ (but a single ‘blink’ in time)
So seek out ‘look of love’ that once was mine
