Romance past

I close my eyes, and you’re not there,
For you have gone, I know not where
And as I call your name out loud,
Your face floats by on silken cloud.

I seek and seek but you’re not there
As into crowds I constant stare
Once in a while, I think you’re found
But then my hopes just hit the ground.

Where have you gone sweet love of mine
I drink your name in ruby wine
And as I cry soft silken tears
I wait for you the passing years.

As old I grow so very fast
I ruminate our romance past.
