Remembrance

As our hearts beat
Just as theirs would
Will they forever stay
In there?

All the suffering is over
And death, missing men
All of it now will be no more
As they fell for us

As our hearts beat
Just as theirs would
Will they forever stay
In there?

Great grandfathers we may never know
Up in the air or down on the ground
They all fought for us to be free
Forever

As our hearts beat
Just as theirs would
Will they forever stay
In there?

We will love them
As they loved us
Hero’s alive or dead
We will remember them

As our hearts beat
Just as theirs would
Will they forever stay
In there?

Young or old
Strong or weak
Behind the glass
We will remember them

As our hearts beat
Just as theirs would
Will they forever stay
In there?

Did they beat the drums
When they lowered them down?
Now as the sun shines warm
They will sleep in peace in a cold graveyard
We will remember them

As our hearts beat
Just as theirs would
Will they forever stay
In there?
