Rage from inside
Born of pride
From a need to serve
Much more do they deserve

Burning from the body so deep
Bubbling over, starting to seep
They cannot relate to kin
Locked in the turmoil within

Frustrating thoughts always emerging
That are distressing and disturbing
How much longer can it go on
Where did this possibly come from

With a duty to perform
When they donned the uniform
Unable to think or speak
Anger beginning to creep

From lack of feeling and sleep
To a feeling of inferiority and being weak
This is a veterans lot
It seems all they have got
