Ordinary Wife

I often turn back time in my head
And ponder would I still follow where you led
To your parallel universe where nothing is as it seems
It belongs in either nightmares or sweet dreams
In a candy floss universe or a demon inhabited domain
Chocolates and champagne or battles and campaigns
It’s far from boring in your bi polar fashioned life
But oh to be bored to be an ordinary wife
With ups downs laughter and tears
Little treats surprises and a few little fears
What joy it would be to never know of PTSD
Not to be an expert on the facts and the theory
To be as it was in the beginning just you and me
I will always walk with you be by your side
But just now and then I wish you could be my guide
