Ordinary Soldier

He’s just an ordinary soldier
A man so brave and true
He killed three men today
Well, that’s what soldiers do

He makes no fuss about it
He shouts it not out loud
But he saved anothers life today
That makes him oh so proud

Sometimes when battles rage
He sees the tradgedy and pain
This causes him to wonder
If he’ll ever get back home again

During nights of fitful sleep
His devils they return
But with the mornings rising light
He sends them back to burn

He makes no fuss about it
He’s not got much to say
For he’s just an ordinary soldier
And it’s the way he earns his pay.
